1) Walk on the station square to the west towards metro station central station. Here you take metro 54 direction Gein. The station square is the square in front of the Central Station in Amsterdam and was opened in 1889. In addition to the beautiful station building, this square is also home to the Noord-Zuid-Hollands coffeehouse.  In the past, this was the starting point of the ferries to the other side of the IJ. Since 1980, the metro station has also been located under the station square. (8 minutes journey time)

2) Get off at Spaklerweg and walk out of the metro station on the left. Then go straight on into the lindenhoevestraat .

3) Turn right to stay on the lindenhoevestraat and continue to the H.J.E. Wenckebachweg.  Walk towards driving school SAN, when you reach it you turn right into the H.J.E. Wenckebachweg.  Behind the Amstel station on the H.J.E. Wenckebachweg was formerly Bajesdorp.  Bajesdorp took its name from the Bijlmerprison, the adjacent prison. The Bijlmerprison (official name: Penitentiary Amsterdam) is one of the most famous prisons in the Netherlands. The prison was inaugurated on March 7, 1978.

4) Walk along the H.J.E. Wenckenbachweg past Safe Haven Church Amsterdam until you approach a crossroads . At the crossroads, turn left and then right again into the H.J.E. Wenckebachweg . (11 minutes journey time)
