The course combines essential theory with hands-on training to ensure participants are prepared to respond effectively in real-life emergencies.
What You Will Learn
Participants will gain skills and confidence in:
- Recognising and treating common injuries: wounds, burns, fractures, bleeding
- Responding to illness and emergencies: fainting, seizures, allergic reactions, and cardiovascular symptoms
- Basic life support (BLS): CPR, airway management, and use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
- Scenario-based role play: Realistic simulations tailored to work and daily life
- Legal compliance: Meets training recommendations for designated first aiders as per Dutch and international safety guidelines

Course Details
Maximum Student-to-Instructor Ratio: 16:1
Maximum Group Size: 24 participants (with two instructors)
Initial Training Duration: 8 hours
Refresher Course: 8 hours
Assessment Method: Continuous instructor observation and a final evaluation of both theoretical knowledge and practical skills
Certificate Validity: 1 year from the date of completion
Accreditation: Issued by eerstehulpinternationaal.nl, equivalent to recognised standards such as Het Oranje Kruis and the Dutch Resuscitation Council
Dutch Language Option: Yes – also available in Dutch as Eerste Hulp (EHBO)
